Sunlytic ("we", "us", "our") operates the free solar estimation tool at sunlytic.app. We are an independent service and are not affiliated with any utility provider, regulatory body, or solar installer unless explicitly stated.

2. What information we collect

2.1 Information you provide voluntarily

When you complete our solar calculator quiz, we may collect:

• Your name (required for quote matching)
• Phone number (required for installer contact)
• Email address (optional)
• Property details — building type, electricity bill amount, roof characteristics
• Lifestyle inputs — EV ownership, air conditioner usage, battery interest
• Your country and approximate region (for accurate tariff calculation)

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you use our service, we automatically collect:

• Browser type and version
• Operating system
• Timezone (used for country detection)
• Pages visited and time spent
• Referring website
• Anonymous interaction patterns to improve the tool

2.3 Location data

If you grant location permission, we use your GPS coordinates only to estimate your local sun-hour data. We do not store these coordinates. You can decline this and pick your region manually instead.

3. How we use your information

We use your data to:

• Generate your personalised solar estimate
• Match you with up to 3 certified solar installers in your area (if you submit a quote request)
• Send your PDF report via email if you've opted in
• Improve our calculator's accuracy and user experience
• Communicate with you about your quote status
• Comply with legal obligations

4. Who we share your information with

Installers: If you submit a quote request, your name, phone number, email (if provided), and property details are shared with up to 3 verified solar installers covering your area. They will contact you directly to discuss quotes.

Service providers: We use trusted third-party services that process data on our behalf:

• Vercel (website hosting)
• Cloudflare (security and content delivery)
• Google AdSense (display advertising)
• Google Analytics (anonymous usage statistics)
• Resend (email delivery)
• Stripe (payment processing for premium features)
• Supabase (secure data storage)

We never sell your personal data. Ever.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies for:

• Essential site function (remembering your country selection)
• Analytics (anonymous usage patterns)
• Advertising (Google AdSense uses cookies to show relevant ads)

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. The calculator will still work, but some features may be limited.

We keep lead information for as long as needed to fulfil the quote-matching service, typically up to 24 months. Anonymous analytics data may be retained longer for service improvement.

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own (e.g. our hosting providers may be located in the United States or European Union). We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
