Solar made simple.
For everyone.
Sunlytic is a free online tool that helps homeowners figure out if solar makes sense for them — without the jargon, sales pressure, or endless phone calls.
We believe going solar should start with honest numbers, not aggressive sales calls. So we built a calculator that gives you a clear estimate in under 2 minutes — then connects you to verified installers only if you want to take the next step.
Why we built Sunlytic
Most solar calculators are either too technical (built for engineers) or too pushy (built to capture leads at any cost). Homeowners are stuck between confusing PDFs and aggressive sales calls.
We saw a gap. Especially as electric vehicles became more common, more homeowners started asking: "Does solar actually make sense for me?" They wanted real numbers, not marketing pitches.
So we built Sunlytic — designed to feel like a friendly conversation, not a 15-page form. Just answer a few simple questions, get an honest estimate, decide what to do next.
Who's behind Sunlytic
Afiq Azhan
Sunlytic is independently built and run by Afiq, a Malaysian engineer who got tired of solar calculators that were either written for other engineers or designed to harvest phone numbers. He builds every part of this site himself — the estimate models, the tariff research, and the solar suitability map powered by NASA POWER climate data.
When Malaysia replaced Net Energy Metering with Solar ATAP in January 2026, Sunlytic's models were updated within weeks — because an estimate built on last year's policy is worse than no estimate at all. Questions or corrections are genuinely welcome via the contact page.
What makes Sunlytic different
Honest estimates
We use real tariff data from local utilities, not generic numbers. Your country and region matter — we account for both.
Quick & simple
Most people finish the quiz in under 2 minutes. No jargon, no engineering speak, no required sign-up to see results.
Privacy-first
We don't sell data. Your phone number only goes to installers if you specifically request quotes. No spam, no surprises.
Global, local
We auto-detect your country and apply local tariffs, sun-hour data, and installation costs. Works in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, UK, US, and more.
Battery & EV-aware
Most calculators ignore battery storage and EV charging. We don't. Both can dramatically change your savings — so we factor them in.
Free for users
The calculator is free and always will be. We're supported by ads and partner installers — never by selling your data.
Who Sunlytic is for
Sunlytic is built for:
- Homeowners curious about solar who want real numbers before talking to a sales person
- EV owners and EV-curious drivers wondering if solar can offset their home charging costs
- Eco-conscious families who want to know their CO₂ impact
- Business owners looking at commercial solar for shophouses, offices, or factories
- Solar installers looking for a quick assessment tool to share with prospective clients (B2B partnerships available — sunlytic@gmail.com)
How accurate are our estimates?
Our calculations use industry-standard formulas with real utility tariff data, region-specific sun-hour averages, and conservative system loss factors. Estimates are typically within 10-20% of what a professional site assessment will quote.
That said, every roof is different. Always get at least 3 professional quotes before deciding — and our tool gives you the baseline understanding to compare those quotes intelligently.
How Sunlytic stays free
Running a global web tool costs money. Here's how we keep it free for users:
- Display advertising via Google AdSense (you'll see ads, never popups)
- Optional premium PDF reports — watch a 30-second ad or pay $1.99 to unlock
- Lead-matching fees paid by certified installers (only triggered if you request quotes)
- White-label subscriptions for solar businesses who want to embed our calculator on their own site
We never sell your data. We never share your details without your explicit request. Read our Privacy Policy for full details.
